Application for exchange students

Students from partner institutions may apply for the exchange program at Munich University of Applied Sciences for one or two semesters.


Selected students must be nominated by the coordinator at their home institution via email before starting the application process at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Contact persons can be found here.

The nomination deadlines are:
Winter semester: May 1st
Summer semester: December 1st


Please use our Online-Application-System to apply for one or two exchange semesters at Munich University of Applied Sciences. The Online-Application-System can be found via the Link for Application form A (see below).

Application deadline:
Winter semester: May 15th
Summer semester: December 15th

Please note that old application forms are no longer valid. Only the new online application form will be accepted.


Required documents for application

A. Application form A (to be filled in in the online system - Please print PDF after filling, have it signed and scan it as a PDF.) -> Currently closed, will be re-opened approx. October 2015.

B. Transcript of Records (including all course achievements)

C. If you would like to participate in the Courses in English:

  • proof of at least B2 level English language competency, in accordance with the 'Common European Framework of Reference for Languages' e.g. DAAD-Test, TOEFL, IELTS, or other language certificates (these must be issued by an English language institute or an English teacher, not by a coordinator)
  • or, confirmation that you are studying in an academic program taught in English
  • or, if you are a native speaker please indicate this on the A. Application form, under language competency.

D. Additional requirements for Master students: copy of Bachelor or Diploma certificate

E. Additional requirements for ERASMUS+ (European students incl. Switzerland):

  • copy of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC, E-111) or, if you have a private insurance, a document of your insurance company that confirms sufficient insurance coverage during your stay in Munich. Travel insurance is not sufficient.
  • ERASMUS+ Non-European students from EU-countries: if student doesn’t have an EHIC-card no confirmation is needed for application but information if the student has insurance or will take out insurance in Germany is needed
  • Turkish students: After you received the letter of Acceptance after our deadline please apply for the AT-11 form and send a copy of it to us. It cannot be issued before you have a letter of Acceptance but afterwards.

F. Additional requirements for Design students: digital Portfolio as PDF-file (max. 5MB)

Please send your scanned application documents via email as one (1) PDF-File with max. 5 MB to Design students can send the Portfolio additionally.

You can also fax the signed document to 0049-(0)89-1265-1140 .

You will not receive immediate confirmation that your application documents arrived. If they arrive more than two weeks before the deadline, we may be able to review it and acknowledge the receipt. If it arrives close to the application deadline we will process your application after the deadline.

In any case: Letters of Acceptance will be sent to you within one month after the deadline.

Applications which are received after the deadline or incomplete cannot be accepted.

In case you have to withdraw from the exchange programme, we kindly ask you to immediately inform International Affairs.


Erasmus+ Learning Agreement

Munich University of Applied Sciences doesn't require ERASMUS+ Learning Agreements from ERASMUS+ students. The Learning Agreement is not part of the application documents.

Erasmus+ students who need to fill in a Learning Agreement should use this information sheet as a manual. You can send the Learning Agreement to the International Office via Email. It will be returned signed via Email after the application deadline provided that the student got accepted.
