Application for exchange students

Students from partner institutions may apply for the exchange program at Munich University of Applied Sciences for one or two semesters.


Nomination


Selected students must be nominated by the coordinator at their home institution via email before starting the application process at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Please send nomination to or directly to the responsible coordinator in the International Office .


The nomination deadlines are:
Winter semester: May 1st
Summer semester: November 1st (NEW FOR SUMMER SEMESTER 2017)


Application


Please use our Online-Application-System to apply for one or two exchange semesters at Munich University of Applied Sciences. The Online-Application-System can be found via the Link for Application form A (see below).


Application deadline:
Winter semester: May 15th
Summer semester: November 15th (NEW FOR SUMMERSEMESTER 2017)


Please note that old application forms are no longer valid. Only the new online application form will be accepted.


Required documents for application

A. Application form A to be filled in in the online system -> Link will be sent to nominated students directly.
Please print PDF after filling, have it signed and scan it as a PDF.


B. Transcript of Records in English or German (including all course achievements up to the current date)


C. If you would like to participate in the Courses in English:


If English is not your first language, we will need evidence of your English language proficiency. You have the following options:


1. If you live and study in a country where English is the main language, you do not have to provide any kind of language certificate.


2. If your study programme is solely taught in English, please provide official confirmation of that (e.g. a letter from your home university, confirming that).


3. If none of the above applies, please provide an English language certificate, indicating at least level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or equivalent. We can only accept the following:


  • TOEFL iBT: 80
  • IELTS: 5.5
  • DAAD: B2
  • CAE: 173


Additionally, we may be able to accept official certificates you received by participating in an English language course; also indicating level B2 CEFR. Confirmations in letter form are not valid.


We don't accept the Erasmus+ OLS assessment test.



D. Additional requirements for Master students: copy of Bachelor or Diploma certificate


E. Additional requirements for ERASMUS+ (European students) and students from Switzerland:

  • copy of your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC, E-111 - blue card) valid for the whole duration of your stay in Munich or, if you have a private insurance, a document of your insurance company that confirms sufficient insurance coverage during your whole stay in Munich.
  • ERASMUS+ Non-European students from EU-countries: if you don't posses an EHIC-card, no confirmation is needed for application but information if the student has insurance or will take out insurance in Germany is needed. Please upload a PDF-document informing us if you will take out German insurance or if you have the confirmation from a German health insurance that your health insurance is valid in Germany.
  • Turkish students: After you received the Letter of Acceptance after our deadline please apply for the AT-11 form and send a copy of it to us. It cannot be issued before you have a Letter of Acceptance but afterwards. However, please upload a document informing us if you will use your Turkish insurance or a German insurance.
  • Information for all students: Travel insurance is not sufficient for studying in Germany! We are not able to accept any Travel insurances.

G. Additional requirements for Erasmus+ students: Learning Agreement



Proof of German language knowledge
We don't request any proof of German knowledge. However, students who want to follow courses in German are advised to have at least a knowledge of B2 to be able to follow courses in German.

Please send your scanned application documents via email as one (1) PDF-File with max. 5 MB to international-office@hm.edu. Design students can send the Portfolio additionally.


You can also fax the signed document to 0049-(0)89-1265-1140 .


You will not receive immediate confirmation that your application documents arrived. If they arrive more than two weeks before the deadline, we may be able to review it and acknowledge the receipt. If it arrives close to the application deadline we will process your application after the deadline.


In any case: Letters of Acceptance will be sent to you within one month after the deadline.


Applications which are received after the deadline or incomplete cannot be accepted.


In case you have to withdraw from the exchange programme, we kindly ask you to immediately inform the International Office.


Erasmus+ Learning Agreement

Munich University of Applied Sciences requires ERASMUS+ Learning Agreements from Erasmus+ students. The Learning Agreement is part of the application documents for Erasmus+ students.

WHERE TO SEND TO?


Please upload your Learning Agreement in the application form A during the application process.


If you have already submitted application form A, you can send the Learning Agreement to the Email mentioned in the "Fill-In-Help information sheet" .


WHEN WILL IT BE RETURNED?


In all cases the Learning Agreement will be returned signed via Email after the application deadline provided that the student has sent all necessary application documents and got accepted.
