Students who are registered at a partner university of the MUAS (see international programmes) may apply for an exchange programme. Exchange students are limited to attending a maximum of two semesters at the MUAS. While they are exempt from the mandatory German examination, they are nonetheless expected to have a working knowledge of the German language as most lectures at the MUAS are still held in German. It is thus essential that students gain solid German language skills in their country of origin.
If you would like to participate in an exchange programme, you should contact the appropriate person at your university as your school may have certain restrictions or conditions regarding participation in an exchange programme. Your application for participation in an exchange programme at the MUAS must be received by the International Office no later than 15 December for the summer semester and 15 May for the winter semester.
The application must include:
- for EU students:
- The MUAS application form
- A study agreement signed by the ECTS coordinator of your home institution
- for non-EU students:
- The MUAS application form
- Required forms with a study plan as stipulated by the programme coordinator at your home institution

Once the International Office has received your application, you will receive an information package by mid-June (for the winter semester) or mid-January (for the summer semester). An official letter of admission for the following semester will be mailed to you from the Admissions Office by mid-September or the end of February. Bring the letter of admission and the required documents with you to Munich.
Upon arrival, there is a mandatory orientation session at the International Office which will help you to complete the registration process and assure a successful start to your studies at the MUAS.
