CORSNAV Computer Vision - Remote Sensing - Navigation

Research project CORSNAV funded by Bavarian State Ministry of Sciences, Research and the Arts

A team consisting of the Professors T. Abmayr, P. Krzystek, C. Schnörr and C.Tiede from the faculties of Geoinformation as well as computer science and mathematics (07) has been successful in tendering for research priorities to expand applied research structures. According to the Bavarian State Ministry of Sciences, Research and the Arts promotes based on a peer review process, the research focus CORSNAV the University of Munich directly in the fields of computer vision, remote sensing and navigation for the next 3 years. In addition to environmental issues such as the biomass mapping of forest and non-forest tree populations, the thermal mapping of buildings and the efficient provision of geothermal and solar sites are also industry-related topics of image processing such as the fast 3D tomography scientifically examined, tested and provided concrete. CORSNAV is thereby allow early active participation and skills development in research and development projects, in particular students, e.g. on research funded part-time positions in Master's programs and attractive internal university theses.
