My stay at HM was great, I found all my classes extremely interesting and I had great professors that encouraged participation and always offered support. In addition, the International Office staff was always kind and helpful. I decided to go to Munich because I love German culture and I wanted to experience life in Germany. I was so lucky to find in HM the perfect match for my program. I loved learning German, the Christmas markets and snow-covered Munich. It was an amazing experience!

Having been in "exile" in California for about 15 years, I greatly welcomed the opportunity to spend a semester in my home country at HM, teaching two courses on Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction. The students are well-prepared and highly motivated, pretty much in line with ours at Cal Poly. With excellent support from the International Office and the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, my stay so far has gone very well, and it will be difficult to leave Munich.

Before studying at HM I attended the Studienkolleg Coburg for one year. That greatly improved my German, so I could follow the lectures without language issues from the start. I decided to go to HM because I really like Bavaria and the university has a good reputation. I appreciate Munich because of its many job options and the numerous leisure time activities that the city offers, for example hiking or skiing.

By all measures, Munich is a fantastic city to study engineering in: its proximity to such giants as BMW and Siemens is reflected in the overwhelmingly diverse technical backgrounds of the University's staff, and the city itself is a beautiful place to be in the summer. It's people are extremely warm hosts, eager to share their culture and language. And the English Garden must be the best public park in the EU.

My first impression of Munich was an extremely safe environment in a fairly large city. I was greeted warmly by the welcome buddy HM prepared for me. She really helped me in getting settled and finding my way through the bureaucratic difficulties. HM has been very supportive! The international office has a wonderful team that has taught me a lot of things that I will bring back to my home university in Philadelphia.

My experience at HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences was very pleasant. The university and courses are great, and you get to meet people from all over the world and gain insight to other cultures, which I found very interesting.
Dr. Patrick Lemieux Summer School lecturer from Cal Poly, USA
My experience teaching at HM has been amongst the most fulfilling and rewarding of my professional life: the camaraderie between faculty and students is productive and informal; the staff is always helpful; the facilities are state-of-the-art; and the cultural diversity and impact second to none. All this taking place in a venue, Munich, that has to be one of the most pleasant and easy-to-be-productive cities on Earth. What a treat!
