The strategic partnership as the university network INUAS München-Wien-Zürichof HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien and ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences was established in 2011. Together, the INUAS universities are among the largest and most important providers of applied teaching and research. The cooperation on the subject "Urban and Regional Quality of Life" should lead to the strengthening of the three locations as internationally important business and university locations.
The following main goals are the focus of the strategic partnership for the universities:
• Developing joint projects on issues concerning urban and regional quality of life, sustainability, resource conservation, as well as ecological, economic and social impact.
• Providing impulses for current topics such as technologies, social innovations, health and the development of urban spaces
• Promoting internationally oriented university projects
• Generating new ideas for sustainable development of quality of life through research and innovative teaching
• Bundling of competences and joint processing of current issues

The activities and measures of the strategic partnership focus on the following key areas:
• Offering high-quality practice-oriented teaching and application-oriented research
• Establishment of joint teaching, learning and research measures
• University-wide cooperation and exchange on administrative and organisational structures
• Exchange with all important actors in the respective metropolitan regions
The university network INUAS München-Wien-Zürich was founded in Vienna in 2011 as the International Network of Universities of Applied Sciences and is an institutional cooperation of the HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien and Zurich University of Applied Sciences:
• FH Campus Wien: With over 7,000 students, FH Campus Wien is Austria's largest university of applied sciences and offers a broad and multidisciplinary range of subjects with more than 60 Bachelor's and master’s degree programmes in a wide variety of fields such as social sciences, technology and business. In addition to international universities, the FH Campus Wien network also includes industrial companies, businesses, associations and public institutions.
• ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences: With around 14,000 students, ZHAW is one of Switzerland's leading universities of applied sciences. ZHAW emphasises diversity and multidisciplinary through its varied and comprehensive range of courses in engineering, health, social work and management. In addition, ZHAW relies on good networking and thus cooperates internationally with universities, companies, authorities and non-profit organisations.
Munich, Vienna and Zurich are German-speaking metropolitan regions in immediate geographical and cultural proximity and, in addition to their outstanding economic strength, have a special position worldwide in terms of quality of life.
All three universities of applied sciences are among the largest and most important providers of applied teaching and research in their countries of origin.
