No disadvantages caused by the corona virus: those who receive funding continue to receive their education grants even if schools and universities are closed or entry to other countries is blocked. This was regulated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in a decree issued to the federal states that enforce the law.
Information can be found on the websites of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Further information, e.g. on hardship rules, can be found in the FAQ list of the Studentenwerk. ALG2 regulations may also be available.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research is reinstating the grant component of the bridging aid for students in pandemic emergency situations for November and beyond until the end of the winter semester.
The online application tool can be found at https://www.überbrückungshilfe-studierende.de
In lectures, students do not need to wear masks at their seats if the minimum distance of 1.5 m is reliably maintained. Attention: This can only be determined and permitted by the lecturers! Teachers who maintain the minimum distance do not need to wear a mask.
Courses can still take place in presence. However, students and instructors are asked to consider risk responsibly. Live streaming and the provision of a lecture recording are recommended in order to allow non-participating at-risk groups at least some virtual contact with fellow students. Students who participate in face-to-face teaching must be aware that they may be recorded with images and/or sound. If they do not want this, they must inform the teacher in good time before the respective course and clarify the individual procedure, e.g. asking questions.
Pregnant students are currently not allowed to participate in the in-person lessons of the university for reasons of protection. For this reason, they are also not allowed to take part in in-person examinations. However, pregnant students can apply to the examination board for compensation for the disadvantages of examinations that are offered as in-person examinations this winter semester. The examination board will allow the examination to be taken in a different form.
Students who belong to a risk group, but want to finish their studies this winter semester with the last exams, can also apply to the examination board for compensation in order to take the in-person exam in another form. This requires a current, qualified medical certificate confirming the existing health risks.
All other students who belong to a risk group can apply to the responsible chairman of the examination board for a period of grace for this winter semester's exams. For this you also need a current, qualified medical certificate confirming the existing health risks.
Information on compensation for exams and the respective application form can be found in PRIMUSS. The examination board is responsible for decisions. Students can submit their applications for compensation until the end of the exam registration..
Please see information on the right for more details. Most staff will not be at the university and can only be reached by email. Calling by telephone may only be possible in some cases. The general phone number of the International Office (089/1265-1243) cannot be reached - if necessary, please call the contact persons directly.
Please make sure that you have always enough food or other necessary supply available to you, in case of a lockdown, stay-home order or infection. Do not live or buy food on a day-to-day basis, but make plans for the week - no hording, though - please consider your peers.

Exams are planned to take place regularly (in person).
Every person is required to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 m from other persons on the entire premises of the Munich University of Applied Sciences.
In all buildings and rooms of the HM, the minimum distance of 1.5 m must be maintained between persons and the obligation to wear a medical face mask or an FFP2 mask ("mask obligation") applies. The mask obligation does not apply at a fixed sitting, standing or workstation if a minimum distance of 1.5 m from other persons is reliably maintained. For teaching events, this means that full occupancy of the rooms is possible with a mask and that events are also possible without a mask if a distance of 1.5 m between all persons present is reliably maintained.
Attention: Students may only remove the mask with the permission of the lecturer.
Please keep up to date on the FK13 website.

Behavior in case of contact with infected persons
Quarantine rules for contacts who have not been vaccinated or have been incompletely vaccinated.
Adhere to domestic quarantine. The quarantine lasts
- 10 days of domestic quarantine automatically, without a final test
- 5 days of domestic quarantine without a final test, if no symptoms for at least 48 hours.
- Isolate from family members in own household
- Observe hygiene rules
- Contact family doctor in case of symptoms that need to be treated
- Do not come into contact with the HM
Close contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 case who are neither vaccinated nor recovered should contact the Health Department at infektionsschutz.gsr@muenchen.de or the Corona general service hotline (089 233-96333, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm).
Quarantine for convalescents:
The quarantine requirement generally does not apply to contacts whose immune systems are not compromised by medications or preexisting conditions and who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and more than 14 days have passed since the final vaccination or have recovered from COVID-19 disease confirmed by PCR testing and have been vaccinated with one dose of vaccine or have recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection confirmed by PCR testing if the underlying testing was at least 28 days and no more than six months ago.
The health department may make a different decision and order quarantine in individual cases.
If you experience typical symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection, such as cough, fever, or loss of taste or smell, within 14 days of close contact with the confirmed case of COVID-19, notify the appropriate health department immediately.
Quarantine for fully vaccinated individuals:
If you have full vaccination protection, you do not need to maintain a home quarantine, except in exceptional cases. We speak of complete vaccination protection from the 15th day after the final vaccination.
Nevertheless, please observe yourself well for the next 14 days after the final vaccination. If you develop symptoms of illness despite vaccination, you must isolate yourself immediately and have a PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 performed.
If you have occupational close contact with unvaccinated risk groups (e.g. work in a nursing home), the need for further measures or requirements for the following 14 days will be discussed with the workplace.
If you have private contact with unvaccinated risk groups (e.g., care of elderly family members) and cannot stop this for 14 days after the last close contact with the confirmed SARS-CoV-2 case, please pay special attention to compliance with hygiene rules. In particular, we then recommend the use of an FFP-2 mask for the care of relatives. Furthermore, we advise you to have or carry out more rapid or self-tests in this case.
The health department may make a different decision in individual cases and order a quarantine.
Quarantine obligation for entrants:
For persons arriving from high-risk areas or areas with variant viruses, there is also an obligation to carry out domestic quarantine immediately after arrival in accordance with the regulations of the CoronaEinreiseV. During quarantine it is not allowed to leave the house or apartment or to receive visitors.
After staying in a high-risk area, the quarantine period is generally 10 days. If you transmit a vaccination or convalescent certificate at www.einreiseanmeldung.de, the quarantine ends early at the time of transmission. The same applies in case of transmitting a test proof at corona-einreisende.gsr@muenchen.de - however, the testing may be performed at the earliest 5 days after entry. Thus, in this case, the quarantine lasts at least 5 days.
For persons under 12 years of age, quarantine ends automatically (i.e. without proof of testing) at the end of the 5th day after entry.
After a stay in a virus variant area, the quarantine period lasts in principle 14 days. In this case, there is no possibility to end the quarantine prematurely (for example by a negative test).
If the person entering the country has been vaccinated with a vaccine that is sufficiently effective against the relevant virus variant, the quarantine period ends prematurely at the time the vaccination certificate is submitted.
Update 24.11.2021:
In the event that vaccinated individuals test positive on the rapid test, please have a PCR test done as a first step. Until you have the result of the test, please remain in voluntary isolation. If your PCR test is also positive, isolation will be performed regardless of the initial viral load, isolation for at least 5 days is recommended.
Information on general protective measures against the corona virus, including regular ventilation, can be found in this compilation of protective measures, as well as in the Safety and Hygiene concept and the Infection Control Concept issued by HM.
Research takes place in compliance with the infection control measures. The project and laboratory managers draw up work and attendance plans that enable safe working environments
After returning from a high risk region or variant of concern region, domestic quarantine is valid for 14 days. Detailed information can be found on the website of the Federal Ministry of Health: https://www.bundesgesundheitsministerium.de/coronavirus-infos-reisende.html
During this period, universities in Bavaria may not be entered.
This applies to areas that were designated as risk regions by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) at the time of the stay or were designated as such within 14 days thereafter. The risk regions can be found on this page of the RKI.
You can validate your student ID card for the current semester, using the validation machines at the university (see Validation below). The card is then again also valid for public transport again.
Please validate your ID card promptly, taking into account infection protection. Freshmen and newly enrolled students will receive an ID card already validated for the summer semester with their enrollment documents.
For further information, please see the locations of the validation machines
If you would like to offer online teaching, please contact your academic host professor or host department at Hochschule München.
